Performance

This is my all time favourite lens, brilliant allrounder, invariably my standard lens on 35mm film, although, with digital, the 1.5 effect makes it a little too long for standard. For a non AF-S lens, its fast, like very fast.

Brilliant portrait lens, and colour is spot on. I've used it in Africa with both digital and traditional film

As you probably have already guessed, I love it, I purchased this lens 2nd hand from BHPhotovideo when starting out, at a time when AF-S lenses and whatever were out of my reach. It still has the same rattle of bits moving inside when i first got it, (was a bit worried at the time),  but it has never given any problems , and never cease's to amaze me.

I would never part with this lens, it has earned its keep many times over. My recommendation, buy it!! forget the 1.4 version, too soft, too expensive and too heavy!
